I sometimes wonder if people in live-action tv fandoms ever leave their houses, because every time they complain about a character being "ugly" I've found that the character in question just looks like an ordinary person and not some super-Hollywood plastic Barbie doll.

Far be for me to defend "wah wah he's ugly" whiners, but...well, it's not quite the same thing.

People look different onscreen than they do IRL, people onscreen have close-ups and intense lighting and are framed and focused on by the camera and when they have a scene or line everything around them is shot to not distract you from their face, and you have to stare at their face constantly when they're on camera to follow the story and dialogue. It's a very different experience than looking at RL people.

The people who whine about actors who don't look perfect are still idiots though. But for slightly different reasons.
cloud_riven: Close-up of an open-mouthed piglet! Is it recoiling? Or side-eyeing? Maybe saying, "HEY YOU TWO SHOULD KISS"? Mystery! (eeeeeeehhhhhh)

ikr? I get if someone's fixated on an outstanding facial feature, but how do you function with people ever omg.

Maybe it's just my low standards, but so far the plainest character on Teen Wolf is maybe Coach Finstock?

And damn, even Orny Adams is GORGEOUS. Like whoa if he had been my coach... I'd have been Greenberg.

He is. If I have to compare him to other folk for understanding, I've been saying lately he's kinda like Rupert Graves, in that his face is just adorably boyish and expressive. And those eyebrows and eyes and when he wears shirts with ties and—
I promised myself years ago that I would never squeal about another man's looks again.

I would also be Greenberg with an painful crush on my coach too ha
