I know a lot of people are going to be "who cares, watch whatever movies you want" but I have a lot of trouble going to see any movies by myself, and most people my age don't watch "movies for kids" so I never end up seeing any of these in a theatre

I have a hard time going to the movies by myself too. I've somehow internalized this feeling that it would make me a loser. That's a dumb thing for me to feel because I missed out on seeing a lot of things in the theatre last year because my newlywed bestie couldn't pry herself off her husband's nethers for a couple hours every few weekends.

NO MORE! This year I'm going by myself to see whatever the hell I want.

Yeah, I know it's really dumb because I go see bands by myself all the time and that is far more awkward (standing around with nobody to talk to for an hour messing with your phone so you don't look stupid). At least in a movie theatre you can sit down and relax and there's no anxiety of knowing that people might be looking at you, because everyone is looking at the screen anyway

This. There are times I get so engrossed in my book I find myself straining my eyes and wondering why the lights suddenly got so dim, don't they know I'm trying to...ah.

I travel a lot for work, sometimes entirely by myself, so I had to get over the akwardness of going out to eat and do other things alone because otherwise I'd spend all of my off time alone in a motel room and never get to do things!

I was the same way for a while, not wanting to see movies by myself. Then I took myself to Wreck It Ralph because I was dying to see it and had a blast. I will still always hope to find a friend to see a movie with me but I'm glad to know that I can go by myself if I must. Give it a shot, you might actually enjoy the alone time.
