I will read some PWPs with a wincest pairing (I am in it for the porn idc who the characters are honestly). But I can't read any longfic about them. I don't get it and I hate when the other characters in the fic are so easygoing about it.

Yeah, I like Wincest, but I hate when other characters are cool and easygoing about them fucking each other. I remember I read a fic where John murdered Dean in a craze when he caught him and Sam together when they were younger. It was pretty horrifying, but it came off as more IC than, "LOL I don't give a fuck if my sons screw each other."

YES! Especially since Dean is 4 years older and something of a parent figure to Sam. There is just so much dubcon in that pairing that I can't see other characters always being like, "Incest? Okie dokie."

And that is precisely why even though I don't generally have a problem with sibling incest, I can't read Wincest at all. Well, not entirely true. I've read a couple of stories where it was acknowledged to be a very fucked up dynamic, but most of the time it was just treated as normal, and... no, I can't see that at all.

Totally with you on the porn. Although I do care (a bit) who the characters are. Something about Dean's protectiveness combined with Sam's size equals instant turn-on for me.

I rarely read anything longer, but if I do, it'd better be fucked up.

I've read A LOT of Wincest and can honestly say that I've rarely come across fic where other characters are "okay" with it. The few that did contain such a thing were either really poorly written to begin with, or so well-written that the author actually made it feasible. Still, both kinds of fics are pretty rare for me since it's just not often done (in my experience, anyway).
