There's no shame in going to the movies by yourself. There's no shame in seeing those 'kinds of films' by yourself. Lots of adults do that. I remember when I saw Toy Story 3 (by myself) in a fairly full cinema, there weren't even any kids there.

I used to feel so self conscious about going to the movies - any kind of movie - by myself, but eventually I realized that the only person who cared that I was there on my own was me.
