I just didn't like her character at all, in either movie. Maybe if they'd gotten a great actress, Rachel could have been an interesting character, but her character and writing were too bland to do much with.

I agree. Rachel is on the long list of personality-less women Nolan has written. I wasn't even upset when she was killed off. She could have been so, so much more interesting
