I used to be the kind of person who couldn't go anywhere public alone. Like being young and single is a bad thing. And then I got married and my husband was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq five different times. In our first four years of marriage, we spent all of nine months together. I learned real fast how to do things on my own. Get lost in a foreign country alone? No problem. Have my firstborn in a foreign country alone? No problem. And if I can do that...?

The thing that I realized when I finally started doing things alone? Everyone else is worried about their own lives and doing their own things. They don't give a damn if I show up anywhere alone or in a pack.

Go to a movie. Have a good time. If you're missing out on movies because you don't want to be there alone or need a prop, what other, bigger things are you missing out on?
