The appeal for me is the dynamic they have rather than the fact that they're related (although I know there are people who ship them for that reason, and that's fine too). For example, if they'd been childhood best friends instead of brothers, but had the same relationship? I'd ship it just as hard.

It has zero to do with my relationship with my own brother (who I barely like as a human being, let alone a romantic partner).

As for everyone else being ok with it, I've only seen that a couple of times, but it actually doesn't annoy me too much. In a fandom that was supposed to be set in our world, I'd have much more of an issue with it, but this is more or less a world where Everything Sucks All The Time. If done right I could maybe see a couple of characters thinking "this life [that of a hunter] is hard enough, let people find love/happiness wherever they can" and letting it go. Not coming out and being all "yay, this is wonderful!" right away, but after maybe having difficulty accepting it for awhile and then eventually coming to the realization that there are worse things (and that they see far worse things on a daily basis)? I'd be alright with that. Not in every story obviously, but every now and then...eh.
