It's clownface. They're appropriating clown culture. That's not ok.

You know, you joke, but I'm sure that's an opinion someone has. "The appropriation and elimination of carnies and sideshow culture" or something like that. I don't know, but I'm sure there's someone in the world who thinks that.

By "cover," are you referring to a song that's a copy of another song or the picture that they put in the front of their album?

Oh good question! I just assumed it was the picture in the secret that was the picture/cover of the album.

Well, apparently it's a single, and it's a cover of "One Way or Another" by Blondir mashed up with "Teenage Kicks" by The Undertones. Considering that Blondie wrote the song about a stalker, I could maybe understand why you'd be offended if a pop band like One Direction covered it.

Where was that song in the game? I don't remember hearing it.

I did like the cover of the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" they had in the game though.

I only know this song because of the Sabrina the Teenage Witch cover, and I'm not entirely sure I've ever heard the original :D

You know your coulrophobia has gotten out of hand when you're afraid to look at the cover of a One Direction album....

But it's for Red Nose Day. It's not like any of the covers that have been done by any of the bands are all that good. Comic Relief gets money; people get helped. If you really want to hate one, hate the "500 Miles" cover from a few years ago. That one ... yeesh.

Yeah. I don't really get the hate for covers in general, because it's not like the original ceases to exist. And the original artists are probably getting royalties. And the original song might get more airplay from DJs who want to get it back out there in response to the cover, too.

But this is a Red Nose Day single. It's the definition of not taking things seriously and doing it for a very, very, very good cause.

I usually tend to be ok with covers that are done for Comic Relief just because they are for Comic Relief, but Girls Aloud doing "I'll stand by you" made me want to weep :/

Covers aren't inherently a bad thing...

While I do tend to get annoyed when someone covers a song and people trip over themselves to praise them for writing an amazing song (it'd be nice if there was some appreciation for the original existing in order for said group/singer to be able to cover it), there are a few songs where I actually like the cover more than the original.

It's kinda cute. The one in the middle looks like he's missing some teeth.

I sincerely hope they're at 14 minutes and counting...
