I remember, I was always taught, don't share personal information online! Now it seems to be the norm to do so. But I can't shake the feeling that it's a bad idea.

Sharing too much worries me as well.

I don't like how easy it is to find people. Most people probably won't ever be in a situation where sharing something online comes back to haunt them, but I'm a paranoid fucker so I think about these things. When I was younger I wasn't quite this opinionated about it, but now I find myself more protective of my personal information.
