NGL, I actually broke up with someone because of their gap. They were sweet so when they asked me on a date I decided to say yes and give them a chance (at that point I didn't realize how big the gap was because he didn't smile with teeth often), but I couldn't get over the large gap between their two front teeth.

I used to imagine trying to push the guy's teeth together all the time. I tried to "get over it", but I couldn't. It would drive me insane. Whenever he smiled at me I'd have to fight back a cringe, and when we kissed... well, I don't need to say how awkward it was. Ever ran your tongue over someone's teeth and feel like your tongue was going to get stuck in their gap? Yeah. It's not fun.

I ended up breaking up with him because of it, and I don't really feel too awful. People don't like what they don't like. And hey, at least I tried.

I broke up with a guy because he had really ugly feet, and he were a real sweetheart, too. I just couldn't stand the sight of them, and my ex used to walk around barefoot all the time.

You really can't help what bugs you. I mean, I think an attraction to one's personality is important, but sexual attraction is also important, and if the person has a physical quality that really turns you off... well, it's to be expected that a relationship won't be able to survive.

Yeah, but if I love someone, that sort of cancels out all the things I might be put off by. I am bugged by certain shapes/sizes of moles (only on the face) and I always think about that when I watch videos by Charlie McDonnell on YT for example. It doesn't put me off, but... idk, it bothers me.

However, I am not in love with him and I think that if I was, it wouldn't bug me anymore.

The thing is... didn't you realize before you started dating that person? I find it weird to be IN a relationship and then break up with that person just because of that.

sometimes you want to believe that you can feel the way you do, that love will cancel out any sort of things that put you off. and sometimes, despite your best efforts, it can't.

some people are more visually-oriented than others, too, so for them it can be harder to overlook something like that. there's nothing wrong with it, that's just they way they are.
