Doctor Who fandom has been complaining about Doctor Who since forever.

For the record though, I'm actually more excited about the show right now than I have been since like early series 5. I love Clara and I hope that my love for Clara reignites my fondness for the show.

When they complained it into oblivion in the 80s, or at least one mad fan did, they started complaining they had nothing to complain about (apart from Crime Traveler) and would the BBC bring it back so they could complain about it again. It was briefly brought back in 1996 and many fans were overjoyed and promptly sent hundreds of complaints to mark the occasion. But sadly it was cancelled again, and they had to complain about only having books to complain about (particularly the Dr Who book with all the sex and swearing, so much complaining the BBC told the book publisher to make up sci-fi swearwords instead of real ones, which the fans then complained about) until Rusty brought the tv series back to much acclaim and complaints.
