The season 5 finale is either completely brilliant and wonderful or a horrible travesty depending on your opinion (a description that applies to 99% of everything that has ever happened on Doctor Who ever), but it'll almost certainly make you feel something other than "meh". And while a lot of people rag on season 6, it is a lot more emotionally intense than season 5.

Honestly, with this show, tastes are so eclectic that the only way to know if you'll like it is to watch them yourself. Recs are almost entirely pointless.
