This so much! OP, you've described my life!! So glad to find out I'm not the only one, but I don't think there's anything wrong with us. Personally, part of the reason I like whump so much is getting to watch the usually secondary characters pick up the slack while the protagonist is out of commission.

You probably have some idea of exactly how excited I am by that phrase. Out of commission... *shiver* :)
