I'm a nerd when it comes to animals and I think that Scar should be a pretty boy...man while Simba and Mufasa should be more on the bland side.
Because it has been proven that female lions usually go for the male with the darker mane. The darker, the better.
And Scar's is BLACK. How hot is THAT? ;)

Does that black mane mean he HAS to be a pretty boy? No. He can still be hot, have that black hair, and not be a pretty!boy.

I am that against pretty!boy Scar. Then again, I find Jeremy Irons hot and he is no pretty boy. And that's how I tend to see Scar. Color is secondary to me outside the features.

Like the person that's mentioned in the thread who has done humanized lions that ARE African. Their Scar meats the criteria I LIKE.

I just can't do animu!pretty boy!Scar. Yuck.

Even though he's skinny, elegant and wears guyliner even as a lion? Hehe... I think I shall draw a pretty Scar tonight. And I don't even like TLK.
To be honest, I always imagined the human version of Scar to look like Jafar. They were drawn by the same guy anyways (it shows).

Those zoology details have little place in this movie, though. Scar's mane is black because he is Evil and that is literally the whole reason.

Also, it's not just having a dark mane that is inherently attractive to lionesses, it's that dark manes tend to be a sign of good health. Scar is clearly not in good health despite his black mane, ergo, a turn-off to lady lions, so doesn't have to be pretty. Animals don't have the human luxury of being turned on by underweight dudes.

Even so far as villains go, Scar reads as too...slick. Pointy. I can't find that attractive in a male.

You want an attractive dark-complected lion, there's always Kovu ;)
