I seriously agree. There are so much more interesting monsters. The Judoon, for example. Or the weeping angels, which IMO were awesome. Or those aliens who brought the "Silence" in The Impossible Astronaut (omg, the idea of them alone was awesome).

The Daleks are so ridiculously boring. Though maybe I wouldn't feel that way if they didn't make an appearance every other episode.

I think the key word there is WERE. The weeping angels got ruined pretty quickly, and the sad thing was Moffat couldn't keep his own damn canon about them straight so they were different in every incarnation.

They should have stayed in Blink and not been used again.

Eh. I didn't think they were actually scary until they could kill, so I was happy at their later uses.

Technically they could kill you, and what was cool about the weeping angels was the manner in which they killed you. Any monster can kill, but the angels could literally change your fate in a way that even the Doctor couldn't do anything about it.

I couldn't find them scary in the later episodes because I was too busy shaking my head at out inconsistent the canon was within just a few episodes. I'm used to inconsistent canon because it's WHO, but usually the writers at least have the excuse of dealing with an extremely longrunning canon that was never consistent before, the angels were a new monster so they didn't need to be changed that much just to serve the plot.

Eh. For me, while I wouldn't want to live in the past, a monster that only sends you to the past to live out your life there is not scary compared to monsters who only want to kill you like the Daleks or turn you into one of them like the Cybermen.

I didn't see it as necessarily inconsistent because a whole ton of Angels together is going to be different than just 4. It was a different circumstance, and there the Angel's needs were served by killing people.

But my point is it's kind of scary in the terms of WHO. Not many things leave the Doctor helpless, but the Doctor can't do anything if an angel touches you. Even if you don't find it particularly scary, it's more interesting then your run of the mill monster.

Some things can be explained by the angels being stronger in numbers, but I still don't understand why their movement has anything to do with them "thinking" you see them. That makes absolutely no sense, either the angels should have been able to move the whole time Amy was blinded, or they should be able to move any time they want, which would basically mean the angels in BLINK could have escaped at the end.

I think the thing that really got to people was the fact that they look really freaky when they're reaching out for you, and that the way to stop them was to stare. The thought that you'd close your eyes and suddenly OMG STONE MONSTER REACHING FOR YOU scares me so much that I still haven't been able to watch Blink all the way through, but I've watched the other Weeping Angel episodes without so much as, if you'll pardon the pun, blinking.

IA. None of their subsequent appearances have been as good as their first one. They really should have remained one-off villains.

The Angels really irritated me after the second time, which sucks, because they seem to be the current pet monsters of the show. :/
