They've gotten a lot less irritating since the Moffat era. It seems like RTD was utterly obsessed with them.

Kinda...but Moffat turned them into nonsensical creatures that hardly bore any resemblance to Daleks. IMO, Asylum of the Daleks would've been better as Asylum of the Cybermen.

YES I am not the only one who thought this! Oswin would have been so much better/more believable too. That said, I never did watch the Christmas special, and haven't watched any of this season, so I have no idea how off-the-wall my thinking is. But that ep would have been WORLDS better with Cybermen.

All but two of RTD's series finales were about the Daleks (and the remaining two were focused on the Master, so he was scarely original there). And it was always about these were the last Daleks in existence, the Doctor beats them, and then somehow another lot of "last Daleks in existence" pop up...
