Yeah but... you know just because something is canon/popular doesn't mean people have to ship it, right?

I just honestly don't understand people who have to resort to "deluded fool" and "you are pathetic" arguments to defend their pairings. Ship and let ship. I just...why can't you just enjoy the pairing and leave it at that?

You don't have to be negative to defend a pairing.

People are going to ship what they want to ship, and that's ok.

I'm not sure why, but I read 'deluded fool' in a warm, affectionate tone and so can't find it in me to be in any way annoyed by this judge-y secret.

It's probably the fault of the adorable picture. Like 'Aww, cute picture snow scarves happiness BAM HOW PATHETIC YOU LIKE A DIFFERENT PAIRING YOU DELUDED FOOL ♥♥♥'.

But seriously OP, ship and let ship. People don't have to ship Spamano if they don't want to - it could be that all that lovely canon subtext that is apparently there isn't the type of thing those people are interested in, and their chosen rival ships fulfil their shipping needs much better than Spamano does. Who are you to declare the ships unequal?

I don't know if it's cute or pathetic that someone would insult people over fictional pairings. But I mostly lean on pathetic.
And I'm not even into Hetalia at all.

I like the ship and everything, but I can understand why others may not, especially if they're uncomfortable with the sort of parent-child bond they start with.

...Okay, but what about those of us who ship that *and* other Spain and S.Italy pairings equally?

That said, really OP? You're going to call people pathetic over fictional characters they ship because it's different than your ship? Really? It could just be me but...that's...just kind of seems sad, and over invested.

I agree that Spamano has the most subtext of any pairing with those two characters, but... I don't know I used to think Himaruya was aiming for it, but I'm not as sure after his comments about Romano toward Spain in volume five of the manga.

That being said, just because people ship something, doesn't mean they think it's going to be canon (not that Spamano will ever be 'canon' anyway). They're not 'deluded' for shipping something that isn't the most popular pairing, and it's downright ridiculous to insinuate as much. I'm not a huge fan of Spamano because I don't much like Spain. That doesn't make me deluded. It just means I prefer other characters/pairings (lately I'm liking RomaBel). As for pairings not being 'equal'? I don't even know what that means.

I don't read Hetalia, nor do I care to, but Spamano is a hilariously awesome ship name.
