I was downtown when it happened, but far enough away from the finish line that I didn't feel or hear the blasts. It's been insane; for two hours afterward, there wasn't a time where you couldn't hear sirens or not see an ambulance. All my friends and loved ones in the area are fine, luckily.

When you started to hear the sirens and saw the people streaming, what did you think was happening?

I was in a store when it happened and didn't hear about it until twenty minutes after, when I was in the check-out line and talking with the cashier. Someone else in line is checking her phone and says there was a bombing. The cashier checks her phone and confirms, and when I leave the store there are people milling around. Everyone was on their phones, calling people to check if they were okay or confirming that they were okay. All the information I had was word of mouth from people around me.
