(Anonymous) 2013-04-15 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)To be frank, as I mentioned in another comment above, I thought The Doctor's Wife was a Moffat episode at first due to the really blatant, gross sexism and objectification going on, the utter lack of plot and the obvious reliance on "clever" verbal banter to keep audience interest over actually writing anything that was good. Finding out that it was the episode written by Neil Gaiman, which had been touted by fans as undoubtedly to be the best episode in the season, was... well, disappointing to say the least, and I lost a lot of respect for Gaiman after having watched it.
I still haven't read much of his books and stories really. I think he's over-hyped. I'd planned on checking him out if his Doctor Who ep was any good, but considering it was an abysmal failure... I don't have much faith that his own writing is any better.
