Re: What kind of shoes do you wear?

Basically my rule about footwear is this: If it looks like this footwear would kick your butt if you encountered it in a dark alley, I want it. This generally means big stompy boots with straps, buckles, possibly spikes, chunky heels as opposed to stilettos, etc. probably in black.

But I'm a sucker for boots in general these days, so aside from my favorite stompy black boots with straps and buckles, I've also got a pair of relatively plain purple ones (they were spotted at a thrift store, and were in my size, and my girlfriend knows I love purple and my birthday was coming up, and like you're going to find something even better in purple for $5? Plain is fine!) and a pair of brown ones I got because they were on clearance for like $10, look like something a Seiken Densetsu character would wear, and the name of the model is "Rabbit". Seriously, I saw the word "Rabbit" and stopped and did a double take, observed that the word I already have positive associations with was attached to some weird but cute little boots, and they were cheap... yeah, not really much choice there.

(And we will not get into the dozen or so pairs of shoes/boots I have for cosplay purposes. There's a big box in the basement FULL of them, most of which I hand-made or at least customized, which are worn only with one particular outfit. Hahaha.)
