I didn't get that impression from her at all, though I do get what you're talking about when you refer to people thinking that the end-all be-all of a woman's life is to eventually get married and reproduce. I don't think I've ever told someone that I don't want kids without getting the response of, "Well, you're still young, you'll change your mind about having kids/getting married when you meet the right person". No. No, I won't. Some women know when they're young that they want to grow up and be a mother; some decide at that same age that they don't. I've been with the same guy for nine years. I'm not going to change my mind. I don't understand why people can't accept the idea of a woman not wanting to reproduce.

That being said, you thinking that J. K. Rowling's implication that women who don't have/want children are ~unfulfilled~ and need to get their daily childcare quota from teaching/nursing/some other maternal profession is ridiculous to me. I mean, have you READ the books? Does McGonagall act very maternal to you? The book series is set IN A SCHOOL, it's hardly a fair comparison to say that Rowling is purposely making all of her childless characters into bad people/putting them in maternal careers.
