I'm a book purist myself but personally I think Graham and Hannibal are both well-portrayed.

What I do think silly is how Freddy Lounds and Alan Bloom are now girls. The weaselly reporter is now a hot redhead, etc. Jack Crawford being black isn't that huge a deal because he's still the same person but if you're changing the gender you might as well just make up a new character at this point.

See, I disagree. With Freddie, she's just as lousy and manipulative as Freddy. Some of the motivation has changed, but I think she works well. Alana is clearly getting crossed over a bit with Molly (Don't let him get too close!), but her demeanor, I feel, is right on Alan. Besides, he was a minor enough character that it doesn't matter.

I disagree on principle -- I think genderswaps in canon are great -- but I'm a little uncomfortable with Freddie specifically now being a girl, given her inevitable ending. I would have rather had Jack become Jill and have had Freddie stay male.
