I kind of agree. Kind of, in that not all escort missions are complete hell to go through. Except for the ones in Pokemon Mystery Dungeons when your escort gets hit enough times, and starts to run away from the group- only to get knocked out (and get transported out of the level) before you can reach them.

i especially love (and by "love" i mean "hate") when you're escorting a flying pokemon and they fly over lava and get burned and then heaven help you if your character isn't fire type so you can chase them and you don't have the seeds to heal them
