Because to me the clash and the fighting and the arguing and the rough, wild make-up sex is much more interesting than two people who get along all the fucking time and maybe fight over orange juice.

but the question is why would people who hate each other and fight each other and clash be having makeup sex? makeup sex happens between loving couples who have had an argument. not between acquaintances who would rather each other burn. why would they be having sex at all? i think that's part of the op's issue. it certainly is mine, where people confuse dominant personalities that happen to be attracted to each other with 'i hate you. i don't like you. you suck.'

the pairing i ship don't get along all the time by any means, they have their conflicts, but they don't hate each other like the main ship in the fandom does.

i just don't get how hate = love somehow.
