I kinda hate it that the word "Kismesis" sounds better than "hate-shipping" in regard to fanfics, even though those two things have slight differences with one another.

Kismesis is an awesome word, but until it enters the general fandom lexicon it will be hard to use it in a non-Homestuck context without looking like an ass.

Homestucks have told me that trolls in those relationships respect each other and watch each other alive even if they hate each other. That definitely doesn't apply to all hate ships...

I feel like hateshipping or whatever you wanna call it is just the logical conclusion of the, "he's a dick to you because he likes you," bullshit a lot of girls get told when they're young. And also possibly misunderstanding the difference between tsundere and actual animosity. Not that I have anything against hateships when they're actual hateships, but most people seem to take the friction between two characters as a sign of ~something deeper~ and then write ridiculously OOC fluff fic or something.

I'm not usually a fan of hate-shipping either so I sort of feel you on this. Still, people ship what they're interested in and those ships do it for a lot of people; they won't be going away anytime soon.

All I know to suggest is try to find other people with interest in your ship, and if you feel so inclined try to write fic or whatever, see if you can convince anyone else of the ship.

Ugh, I feel you, OP. For Durarara!!, the big ship is Shizuo/Izaya who both despise each other when Kida/Mikado is so much cuter, and there's a lot more chemistry. :/

You don't like Sterek and maybe ship Stiles with Scott? In any case, those kind of ships are popular and if they're not your cup of tea there's usually a corner of fandom you can hang out in.

Also, I personally can't ship Scott/Stiles because to me they're too much like brothers and don't scream "romantic pairing" to me at all. I do ship Stiles with about 4 other people though. Not sure why you're angry that people ship Sterek. People can't help which pairing they're drawn to. I sure can't.

Depending on the pairing itself, I don't mind and I do like to ship characters that hate eachother in canon.

Also, I would like to say that I completely misunderstood this secret because at first by "hateshipping" I thought it meant that the OP hates on the other ships that contradict theirs because theirs makes more sense. ORZ

Because to me the clash and the fighting and the arguing and the rough, wild make-up sex is much more interesting than two people who get along all the fucking time and maybe fight over orange juice.

but the question is why would people who hate each other and fight each other and clash be having makeup sex? makeup sex happens between loving couples who have had an argument. not between acquaintances who would rather each other burn. why would they be having sex at all? i think that's part of the op's issue. it certainly is mine, where people confuse dominant personalities that happen to be attracted to each other with 'i hate you. i don't like you. you suck.'
