It's not that it's AU fanfic, it's that it's really awful AU fanfic with really awful BDSM practices pretending to be good.

If there's one thing fanfic has taught me, it's that people like unrealistic porn and don't really mind bad writing.

Which is fine if you admit it's unrealistic porn and bad writing. Like away! It's when you try to pass it off as realistic and safe practices that bothers me.

Exactly. Personally, I think it actually makes it harder for fic-turned-original work to be taken seriously. She's almost single-handedly turned "mommy porn" (I hate that phrase) into a joke.
