I liked her on Law and Order: UK, not so much on Doctor Who. And I never warmed up to Mickey. But then, I was a Doctor/Rose/Jack shipper and he was just...unnecessary to that. Except for how he was in my favorite scene with those three...but after that I was ready for him to go back to London and leave us alone.

....there's a Law and Order: UK?

I..uh...did not know that.

There is! She's one of the Crown Prosecutors. Eventually her boss is the 5th Doctor and I can't even watch it for giggling.

Also, Apollo from BSG is one of the cops. I like it, even though I think most of the episodes are re-dos of the original L&O eps, that was Dick Wolf's deal for letting them do a UK version.

Whaaaaaaaat? How the hell have I never heard of this? Is the show any good?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-18 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Different anon- I watched the first season and it wasn't very good at all; they were also almost all awkward adaptations of teleplays from the Mothership, and the early seasons (so from the early '90s) at that. I've seen a handful of the later episodes and they were better, so it's fine for casual watching, but I'll never be a huge fan of it. I also wanted 10000% more Harriet Walter (and Petey in once he joined) and of course I never get nearly enough.

AYRT: Depends on what you want out of it. SVU was the only other L&O I'd ever watched, so I really enjoyed it. My husband likes the Mothership most, and he STILL really liked it because he enjoyed seeing the differences between the American and the British law systems. I liked all the character stuff, especially between Apollo and his partner.

Maybe I should clarify because this IS fandom....not romantic stuff between Apollo and his partner. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just never read them that way.

her boss is the 5th Doctor

You can't just say these things and not provide links.

How did I never hear about this? WHAT.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-19 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
And Danny Baldwin from Corrie is a cop! Gives me the giggles everytime I watch that video of the blooper where he starts doing his over-the-top dance while remaining completely deadpan.
kamino_neko: Tedd from El Goonish Shive. Drawn by Dan Shive, coloured by Kamino Neko. (Default)

Also, Apollo from BSG is one of the cops.

Was. He was killed off in series 5. (He was the Logan-equivalent, so it had diverged by then, at least.)

There is. And it is excellent. The latest DA is Peter Davison.
