With you there. It is endemic in theater trailers right now. I've given up going to the theater because I don't feel like handing over 20 bucks for a movie which is probably going to be the opposite of what is shown in the trailers. Stop cramming crappy "twists" down our throats with misleading bullshit!

I hate it even more when, instead of misleading twists in trailers, they essentially show you the plot twists and spoil the movie before you go.

No, that would be better. That is what trailers are for, to tell you what the movie is about so you can decide whether or not to go see it. A bunch of unrelated scenes which just show off the effects work or flat out deceive you as to what the movie is about to preserve "the twist" might be okay for giving fans the happy feels, but is useless or worse than useless for the average undecided viewer.
