That movie freaks me the fuck out. :X

Nah. It's weird, but you can live with it (or ignore it, as the case may be). The only movie that truly freaked me out was Eraserhead. At least the freakiness in Rocky Horror had a narrative. What the flying fuck was going on in Eraserhead?
starphotographs: I like him. He kind of looks and acts like one of my characters. (I did not know this when I started liking him!) (Victor (...>:|))

Everyone says this. EVERYONE.

Eraserhead did nothing for me. Except for the parts where I found it vaguely humorous. I felt kinda cheated. :(

I don't know. Maybe you caught on faster than me? I mean, could you make sense of it? Mostly for me it was that things were happening for no goddamn reason that I could understand, and most of the things were creepy and seemed to have vaguely horrifying implications behind them.

I don't know. I get easily affected by things, and I really, really hate being confused and creeped at the same time.
starphotographs: They are all cool, though! (Cognitive hazard)

I kind of think there wasn't really all that much to it, and a lot of it was just confusing for confusing's sake, which made it kind of hard for me to take seriously?

I also only saw it once years ago, so I don't really remember. Maybe I should take another swipe at it!

(And the only time I find movies scary is when ominous shit it implied but not stated. But it didn't seem like Eraserhead could keep it together well enough to consistently imply much of anything. D:)

Eraserhead reminded me of those particularly weird bad dreams you get--horrifying during the dream, but then when you wake up, you're just vaguely upset and can sort of recall a few images here and there, but nothing coherent.

I remember very little of that movie except very much not liking it and being unable to stop watching it.

Giant flying pancakes swallowing people standing on giant lily pads.

This is a real dream I had when I was about 9 - 11. It scared the frag out of me when I had it, not so much after I woke and had time to think of the absurd imagery.

There was also the dream of vaguely bad cottage cheese too. I had it during an afternoon nap after I encountered a tub of suspect cottage cheese. That was from around the same age too.

David lynch has said in interviews that you can interpret his movies any way you want.
