I know you're joking, but the sad thing is you're probably right.

tumblr fandom is not good at dealing with things like Rocky Horror.

Fuck, if SJWs started attacking Rocky Horror... I would lose. my. shit.

I don't think Rocky Horror is as big a thing as it used to be.

Oh no. I just realized the first brush a lot of younger people might have had with Rocky Horror was via Glee.

The bigger problem is they were watching Glee.

Rocky Horror was never big. It's a cult thing. It only seems big if you are part of the cult fandom.

I had a friend who was in her 30s and Glee was her first brush with Rocky Horror. I was so confused.

It's not that great of a movie, and it's also not Current Popular Fandom Dujour.

The first third of the movie is pretty funny. Other than that, yeah, it's not that great and I never understood even the cult following it has.

It's not really a thing anymore, in fact, midnight movies aren't really a thing anymore. Big movies will have a midnight release, but most places don't have revival houses or second run theaters that screen cult movies on the weekends.

Yeah, they're dying out. On the one hand, we have stuff like Netflix now, but on the other, Netflix isn't really a substitute for getting all dolled up for a midnight showing of Rocky Horror.

We have a few theaters that screen cult movies in my city, but it's pretty cutthroat to get tickets. :/

Really? Because I'm seeing more and more of them start up.

Well, first it had a cult following, as opposed to actually being a big thing in and of itself. That's not quite the same thing, though if you're in the cult following it can look the same.

Also, that movie just doesn't interest a lot of people, so it's not that surprising it isn't huge outside of it's fandom/cult following.
