Well, since you already know you're being stupid, it would be pointless to suggest that perhaps if you would get over your knee-jerk dislike of superheroes enough to spend a couple of hours watching a movie, possibly you would have enjoyed their new fandom as well?

Movies can surprise you. Personally, I thought Iron Man was boring as toast until his movie (and I really did try to like him). I couldn't have cared less about the Hulk until watching Ruffalo bring something unique and honest to the role. I hate scary movies; I loved Cabin in the Woods. Romances bore me to tears; Love Actually is one of my favorite movies.

Genres are just that. They're genres. They're...they're a colored clay. If someone makes a fantastic sculpture out of it, are you going to dismiss it because you don't like the color yellow?
