I loved that episode a TON and I do generally find Eleven more bearable when he's interacting with children.

BUT

I love Clara thus far so I wouldn't have wanted the Doctor to ditch her.

...I don't notice a difference in him when he's talking to adults vs children? I mean, if you dislike him, fine, it's your opinion, but I gotta say I haven't noticed him changing his behavior.

But if they suddenly change the Doctor/companion dynamic away from the "COMPANION LUVS TEH DOCTOR" formula, everyone will be confused and think they're watching the wrong show! THE HORROR. THE HORROR.

And I think she was amazing and awesome but I keep running into people who are all "OMG DONNA WAS THE WUUURST" and I'm just assuming that the casual viewers actually all hated Donna and that's why they haven't had a strictly platonic companion ever since her.

She was pretty cool, but I'm liking Clara and don't necessarily want to see her go yet either. Now if she could have tagged along WITH them for a few episodes...that would've been great.

Do people actually think when they speak, or are they just being facetious when they say they want the Doctor to ditch a companion? Because I refuse to believe that they would actually be happy for an episode where the Doctor ditches a companion for no reason, even one they dislike.

This secret is kind of unfortunate, because CLARA spend the most time in the episode interacting with her and you want to replace her with the kid? :/

I'd rather see both of them interact with kids all season, they're great at it.

On one hand, Clara's character just bugs me. Feels too Mary Sue-ish/deus ex machina, I guess. On the other hand, I am genuinely curious as to what's going on with her character and her interactions with the doctor do intrigue me.

That said, I do like the idea of a more paternal!Doctor, especially with 11.

Maybe he should've taken them both along?

I find her really Mary Sue as well, and her acting is pretty weak, she's like a soap actress, which of course she was.

I agree it will be interesting to see what's going on with her character.
