A sliver of me actually feels sorry for the kid. The more information that is coming out the more it is looking out that this is a case of big brother manipulating little brother into following his agenda. The kid was fine while big brother was over seas. He was a typical Walking Dead watching, prom going, pot smoking, car obsessed, twitter tweeting, worrying about his grades teenager. Then big brother comes back overseas and this happens.

And if this is case, what type of older brother was he to do this to his younger brother? You are suppose to love and protect your brother not twist him into doing something that will almost guarantee him a death sentence.

I know there are many F!Sers here with siblings. Close siblings. What do you think?

I feel sorry for the victims. I feel sorry for the younger brother if he was manipulated. I don't have one ounce of pity for the older brother. One of the worst brothers in history.

The most insane thing about this is that apparently the kid went back to his university on Wednesday and was just working out and chilling with people? or at least i read that somewhere

Yeah I feel awful for this kid. It definitely sounds like his brother was the leader in this. I'm not even checking my FB because it's full of people calling for his death - usually bloody and awful ways. The whole situation is awful.

Yeah, I have a hard time understanding why people respond to death with death, especially when it's someone young like this.

emotional scapegoat

helplessness is a very difficult mental and emotional state to swallow, so finding anything, anyone to blame for your feelings (i'm talking about emotions here, rather than the actual real crimes, which definitely have to be accounted for), anything to make you feel back in control becomes more important than cold logic

I don't have any desire to live in the same world with someone who did this. I don't think anyone can be expected to want to share the earth with someone who did this. I will not mind in the slightest if he gets the death penalty. I mostly don't support the death penalty, but for something like this, I have no regrets about it.

Indeed. If nothing else - like 'ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE DIED ALREADY LET'S NOT HAVE ANOTHER' - wouldn't we rather see him taken in and questioned as to why did they do all this?

Re: Boston Manhunt

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think that's incompatible with wanting him to die. It could just means more of a legal process rather than an immediate thing.

I feel a little bit of pity for the older brother, too. He was taken in by this ideology when he was still just a kid himself.

Somehow I'm not going to be up crying tonight that he's dead.

Ehh, I don't know if I would classify a 26-year-old as a kid. That's more than old enough to know better.

Re: Boston Manhunt

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
The 19 year-old, though?

Re: Boston Manhunt

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

The 19-year-old I could maybe call a kid; it's hard to say at that age. But the person to whom I replied specifically referred to the older brother as still being "just a kid," and mid-20s is, to me, adult territory.

...I don't think I know any kids of any age who wouldn't know better than to blow people up.

It's a kid? That...that is so damn sad. I...well, I hope he doesn't get the death penalty. Kids can be so fucking dumb, especially if he was manipulated in to it. Granted he could be a horrible kid with something wrong that would grow into an equally horrible adult but...damn, a kid.

Saying this as an older sibling, because one of my brothers is, well, he's dumb as fuck (not his fault obviously, he's just a bit on the slow side). He set fire to a park backed up to a school once, in fire season, because the older boys he was hanging with goaded him into it and he just never thinks of consequences. (he was 12 at the time). It took several years of hard work to break their hold on him and he's pretty awesome now, on the right track.

But he's still really dumb at thinking about consequences to actions. We just kinda had to hammer in "don't do all these things no matter what".

So when I hear about things like this where a kid is the perpetrator I just D: D: D: because they're probably going to be tried as an adult, their future is basically gone - and all because they're just the usual dumb kid.

*rant of sad feelings*
*also not american if it matters*

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he's not a kid-kid. He's 19, so... legally an adult.

Re: Boston Manhunt

(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh that's a lot better. Still dumb, but not kid-dumb. Young adult dumb I guess? but should have known better for sure

Any sympathy I might have had for that little POS went out the window when I saw the image of him placing the damn bomb behind that poor innocent eight year old kid. He apparently also ran over his brother with a car, so lol. Hope he gets the death penalty.
