dude, but isn't that how it feels sometimes? And what's wrong with saying having what looks like a young girl saying that after a bad experience? Especially since a good amount of allies on anything (be it women's rights, LGBT rights, Civil rights) sometimes are fucking assholes that talk over the people they want to help and try to dictate how we should act, react, and think.

THIS. Characters can have feelings and responses to hurt that aren't totally rational or measured, and it doesn't mean the author (or the character even) genuinely thinks that. The kneejerk defensiveness in this thread is pretty disappointing.
