(Anonymous) 2013-04-20 01:28 am (UTC)(link)And the "it won't sell" argument just doesn't cut it for me. Publishers and producers assume variety won't sell, so they don't make much of it, so - surprise! - it doesn't sell.
Why is it when a film with a "black/female/insert-minority-protagonist-here" flops, it means EVERY film with that type of protagonist is doomed to fail, so we should stop making them.

In other words, you're talking to an extremely shallow person who isn't really going to care about any of your points.
