Romeo X Juliet: Basically an anime where the Shakespeare story was changed into this awesome fantasy setting and expanded the family feud to the point that the Montagues launch a coup d'état on the ruling Capulet house and nearly wipe them out. And it even added in some plotlines from other Shakespeare stories, like Juliet pretending to be a boy. I thought the story potential was awesome.

But noooooo, they fucked it all up with stupid bullshit, idiotic plot twists, an ironic lack of understanding how monarchical systems work, and never really using the fantasy setting except at the last minute where Juliet HAD to sacrifice herself in a ritual to save everyone's lives. Romeo was just collateral damage who could have easily escaped alive. WAY TO MISS THE POINT OF THEIR DEATHS, ANIME.
