Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds is the only CoC I can remember ever shipping with anyone (Derek/Penelope & Derek/Spencer FTW).

*Shrugs* I don't worry about it too much. I'm generally more attracted to men and women with lighter complexions (not to say that darker skin isn't beautiful, too, but that, personally, it's not what I'm very attracted to), so it's a given that "white" characters are the ones I tend to ship often.

Like I said, I don't worry about it too much. I'm certainly not racist, despite what some people might claim. I just like what I like. Nothing wrong with that, OP.

Criminal Minds is one of the few shows where I actually can't ship anything, at least not within the team. It just feels ... vaguely incestuous? And though I loved and adored the Morgan/Garcia friendship ("Woman, you are my god-given solace."), I was just so stupidly happy that it was a friendship, an onscreen male-female friendship of that depth and glory, that I didn't want them to get together.

About the only thing I came out of CM shipping was possibly Hotch/Rossi, and definitely Hotch/Blackwolf for that one glorious episode. *grumbles* Why did Blackwolf never come back?

I was just so stupidly happy that it was a friendship, an onscreen male-female friendship of that depth and glory, that I didn't want them to get together.

I actually felt the exact same way in the beginning, but their chemistry eventually won me over. Also, I wanted some serious representation for chubby people. The chubby girl NEVER gets the good looking guy in pretty much any media-- at least, not without shedding massing weight-- so I desperately wanted the two of them to get together.

As much as I like Kevin, I was bummed out that she landed the nerdy, barely good looking dweeb at the end. Nothing against nerdy, barely good looking dweebs, 'course, but just ONCE I wanted the not-perfect girl to get the seemingly-perfect guy.

The ex-fat girl in me almost cried when I realized Morgan/Garcia wasn't going to happen.

Ah, I see. I get that, yeah. I guess we just wanted representation of different things, then? Or prioritised different things, at least. It's not that often you get a male-female friendship onscreen that's so ... so teasing and supportive and so intense in places, like with the bomb or in 'Penelope', and I just so loved that.

Just different priorities, I guess.

Though, Penelope is pretty much the perfect girl. She's just so ... She's so human, all those little moments, her with Hotch, that moment on the phone with Emily, her relationship with Morgan, the way she struggled in S6 to step into a new role, the fact that she's apparently working for the FBI mostly because it was that or go to jail because she used to be an off-the-grid hacker, her and Rossi back in the beginning when Rossi had no idea what to do with her ... Garcia is maybe my favourite character on that show (Hotch and Rossi are the others). She is pretty much perfect.

This is definitely how I feel, and it's definitely an incest thing. They're just so close professionally and personally, and that's always a bit weird and squicky for me to ship things, but it's especially pronounced in Criminal Minds because they explicitly and repeatedly emphasize the concept that they consider themselves a family. I don't think it's wrong if someone does ship it, it's just how I read it. They're too close to ship. Maybe that makes me a weirdo to think that. I don't know.

I agree with whoever said that Garcia rules and Kevin kind of sucks, though.
