Your boxes will be stacked upon one another, so they need to be full, or else they will cave in and damage your things, but don't fill them up too much, it could weaken the cardboard and be too heavy.

Wrap everything that is fragile in bubble wrap or at least cloth. Use towels or old cloths to wrap around your plates for example!

Keep the most important things close, especially important papers and know where your valuables are.

Make a list of everything you might need during the week.

Don't wreck your back and good luck in your new apartment!

Seconding the don't wreck your back thing - before you start moving heavy or even a lot of medium-load items, take five minutes to google for a diagram on how to lift things so as to safeguard your back (basically, lift with legs, not by bending/straightening your back).
