When I was a little kid, I thought Ernie was awesome and fun and Bert was no fun at all and I could not understand why my mom said she liked Bert better. But I'm not the person doing wild and crazy things, I'm the person going "OMG will you stop already" while trying to focus on my very unexciting hobbies.

This secret is adorable, OP.
I have to admit, I never liked either Bert or Ernie when I was a kid. I disliked them both. Ernie was annoying and Bert was too stuck up. I didn't like their segments that much.
But I appreciated that Bert was into pigeons. I still have pet pigeons, they are such nice birdies!
