i don't think it was ever marketed as bl anyway, which unfortunately seems to be what lends to some of the wank in western fandom, because some people feel ""betrayed"" by the presence of unlabeled queerness in their digital cornflakes

plus there's so much baggage that comes with the term "bl", the way fans treat it makes me hesitant to use it to describe non-genre queer relationships even in japanese media

No.6 is anything but BL in the traditional sense and I really appreciate Atsuko Asano for not venturing into that territory.
