"Effort" is too much to ask now?

It's hard to see if a person put actual effort into something or not. Some people slave away on a piece of art for hours and it will still look amateurish to some.

But generally speaking, I'm with you. One should always put effort into something if they expect the same from others. No one likes to get gift art - no mater how pretty - accompanied by the sentence: "Oh, I quickly puked that onto the paper between classes" ;)
