Disagree with that. Perhaps it depends on the fandom? I've found that there are a ton of really bad writers out there that can churn out thousands of words a day.

That really sucks on the art though, that being said. But I think that doodle on a notebook paper would fall under the 'don't half-ass things' thing I was talking about, as skill of artist aside, clearly not much work went into that. :\

If anything, I think if you do write that much, it probably sucks because you wouldn't have the time to go back and edit. I can write about 2000 words a day, but I make sure the next day I don't do anything but edit, so my total output for two days would be 1000 words. Writing well takes time. Quality, not quantity.

Exactly.

IME, the best way to grind out lots and lots of words is to not care about quality. And unless you're the reincarnation of Shakespeare, not caring is going to make the quality tank.
