Two words. Miss Management. I need a fandom for that game.

I wouldn't mind one for Heart's Medicine either.

Yes, it was such a fun game. Not just your typical time management. Would've loved some more.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-24 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, me too! Fandom has ruined me, because when I played that I decided on shipping Denise/Winston.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-25 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
omg I forgot about Miss Management!

(Anonymous) 2013-04-23 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Omg a Diner Dash secret! And agreed.

Return to Ravenhearst! I love that game!
And, yeah, I wish casual games in general got more publicity, fandom, etc... )-:

I'm not sure I want a fandom but omg I have an unhealthy addiction to time management games.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-23 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed! Mystery Case Files in general has great stories, and I'd love to see fan involvement for them. "Dire Grove" was fantastic.

Yes! I still remember first seeing the guy in the shed out on the ice and being like, "Holy shit!" And the unraveling of the mystery was actually really cool.

As much as I like MCF, it seems like they keep trying to get more and more gimmicky, which bugs me. Part of the reason I didn't get the third Ravenhearst game was that I played the hour-long trial and I didn't really like the "morphing HO" thing. Just do normal HOs, for Pete's sake.

Oh, hey, does anyone else here play the Haunted Halls games? With the crazy tentacled scientist Dr. Blackmore (you know he's evil; he's got "black" in his name!) who keeps kidnapping your boyfriend (honestly, Tim I can't take my eyes off you for 10 minutes...)?

And there's "Nightmare Mysteries: Asylum Conspiracy". I almost DID write a fanfic about that one, with Christine taking care of Viggo after all he goes through in the game.

Also I've been a fan of vampires for ages, so I always have to try the vampire-themed games. I've found a few I like, like "Blood Oath" (sequel plz?), "Dracula: Love Kills", and "Love & Death: Bitten" (though it does bug me how quickly they jump from Victoria just trying to solve the mystery to her being in love with the vampire dude. Really...? d-:).

(Anonymous) 2013-04-24 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
MCF is possibly getting bad. The latest game is AWFUL. Well, it is very pretty - so well made visibly, and the acting is getting better from the 'live-actors', but the game itself is ...well, it is just average. Not like the fandom has come to expect. Quite sad, as I was so looking forward to a new MCF game.

Yeah, I hated Return to Ravenhearst, although for me part of the reason was because of the hideous child abuse. Having to spend considerable time in an area where you keep hearing a child scream while being hit is just too much for me. I never even finished the game.

Oooooh I LOVED that game, and I would totally read that fic. <3 Viggo is just so wonderful.

I would love to see some fic for Surface: The Soaring City and Phantasmat as well. Fantastic games.

:hearts: haunted halls, but damn, Tim really is a damsel in distress.

Diner Dash Fic

(Anonymous) 2013-04-24 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Flo brushed off a gob of sweat from her brow as she hurried between tables of customers. Her legs burned and backed ached as she zipped and swooped, serving customers their food and taking away dirty dishes.

She pocketed a small tip from one of the college kids that always hung around her diner. She grimaced at the mess he and his friends had created, pulling the rag from her pocket to give the table a quick wash down. She turned to the next table and spotted the college kid again, still with his friends. She sighed; there was a lineup and she couldn't afford loiters. She briskly walked over, picking up and empty plate from the table beside them.

"Sorry, but we have a one table policy. Just because you're table was a bit messy doesn't mean you can change tables. We have a waiting line." Flo said, pointing to the unseated customers. The college kid blinked at her slowly, cocking his head to the side.

"We just got here, man." He said.

Flo paused for a moment. He looked exactly like the college student who had just been there. Same hair, same clothing... no wait. Hadn't the college kid been wearing blue not green? Flo looked at the college kid again. He looked like the other kid, but something was off.

Flo blinked rapidly. She must be tired. Overworked. Feeling a bit flushed under her collar, Flo muttered sorry for the confusion and made a hasty retreat.

Brushing off her confusion, she dropped off the dirty dish in the bin and zoomed over to her next batch of customers, a group of young ladies.

Flo seated the ladies and took their orders, then ran to the service hatch to pin their orders to the rack. There were plates of food waiting to be served on the island and Flo grabbed them. She swept through the tables to table six and placed down the groups order.

"Does anyone need a refill?" She said, looking at the group. Suddenly a chill went through Flo. It was the college kid and his friends. No wait, this time the kid was wearing yellow instead of green.

"Is this some sort of joke?" Flo asked.

"No, I just want a refill of water," the college kid said, his arm extended, holding his empty glass.

Flo took a step back and quickly turned to the section where the college kid had just been. She spotted the kid right away, still wearing his bright green shirt.

They must be twins, Flo thought to herself. "Sorry, I'll get your water right--" Flo trailed off, looking back at table sixes occupants. It was the college kid, more precisely it was the college kid times three. They were all looking at her, each in a different colored shirt, their glasses raised expectantly to be filled.

"Water?" They asked, Flo stumbling backwards.

Flo blinked rapidly again, trying to bring moisture back into her eyes. She must be hallucinating. She was just overworked. This is what you get when you're the only staff worker besides the chef; you start seeing things. She just needed to sit down a moment. It would pass.

As quickly as her tired legs could move, Flo veered around tables, customers blurring around her, all becoming a mash of yellow, red, blue, and green.

"Water," She managed to get out, collapsing against the counter. A hand shot into her gaze and she reached for it. "Thanks." She took a sip and looked up, the college kid smiling at her.

"You're welcome," he said, his bright purple shirt catching the florescent light.

Resting the glass of water on the ground, Flo unsteadily stood. She let her gaze drift across the sea of customers, all of them wearing identical clothing, varying in color scheme.

"I think I have to go home," Flo said to the chief. The chief looked at her in concern, his chief hat an unseemly shade of green.

"What's wrong, Flo?" He took a step forward, his chief's clothing slowly morphing into a shapeless green shirt and pant combo.

Flo bit back a scream as she pushed herself away from the counter.

"Flo?" The chief asked again, coming closer.

Flo ran past the college kid and to the doors of the shop. She tried to fling them open, but they were stuck.

"Flo?" A familiar voice said behind her. "Where are you going?"

Slowly, Flo turned back to face the restaurant, a sea of familiar faces greeting her.

"You haven't finished clearing the tables yet, Flo. And we still have customers to seat. You know you can't leave until closing." The college kid spoke, smiling at her.

"I can't, I have to..." Flo spun, facing the doors again. She had to get out... she had to...

She banged against the doors as a couple walked by. She tried to signal them, yelling at the top of her lungs, not caring how she looked. But the couple kept going, their purple backsides disappearing around the building.

"Come now, Flo. Table five needs cleaning." The college kid pulled her away from the door and pointed her in the right direction.

Flo slumped her shoulders as her feet shuffled against the ground. She past group after group of college kids, all laughing and eating, making more and more dishes that never ended. Her will to escape slowly fading, Flo grabbed a plate, her reflection catching in a unused knife. Her hair looked off... greenish... and her apron was blue not green...

This time Flo didn't bite back a scream as she saw the familiar reflection of the college kid staring back at her.

I'm kinda attracted to Charles in the Ravenhurst games. WTF.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-24 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm incredibly intrigued by him. But I think we are meant to be, especially after Escape when the Charles gets the Detective to 'marry' him. If it was a more well-known game there would be fic in the spades.

I really wish there was more of a fandom for casual gaming. I don't think that they get the recognition they deserve. (I mean, seriously, show me a game more aesthetically pleasing than Drawn.)

I also love the Mystery Case Files series. (Madame Fate is my absolute favorite.)

Hrm, a multi-small-games community could be do-able, or at the very least a fic/kink meme.

The only reason I played Disney's Animal Kingdom Explorers game on Facebook for so long (they stopped adding new content a few months ago) was because I shipped the two main female characters- Ashlee and Sam.

Does anyone remember the free Facebook game, My Tribe- where you had a group of people that washed up on some beach and you had to find food, shelter, and solve puzzles? It was deleted almost a year ago. I still miss that game.
