Lana Del Rey's image is sexualized in a way that I would describe as especially focused on the male gaze, which, as a woman, I find alienating. It spills into her lyrics, which makes her music uncomfortable for me to listen to.

But! The radio station I listen to has this feature called Theft of the Dial, where celebrities come and play DJ for half an hour. She did one last November, and I wasn't really expecting to like it, but I totally did! She had chosen a good playlist and had interesting things to say about why she chose them.

It especially stood out for me because they did one with Dave Foley only two days later (usually they're months apart) and it was really disappointing. He was super egotistical and trash talked his ex-wife a lot.
