Oh hey, I've been there. That house/castle is in a horrible location, which added to the cost and upkeep is probably the reason it hasn't sold.

If I had money to throw away, yeah I'd probably buy a castle. Location would be a huge factor though. I wouldn't use it as just a home though, probably open it up to people or make it a family gathering place or something.

Yeeeeeah. High maintenance building not originally designed for residential or commercial use, a sluggish housing market, and on the historical register which means that anything you do with the property has the potential to become a political and regulatory nightmare.

High-end houses in my neighborhood are not selling either. The gossip I've been hearing is that they're not even being looked at.
