Tamponnnnnnnnns. I can't stand having the blood just... down there and, like, staying pressed against my skin. Ewwwwwwww. I even use tampons when I go to sleep, and set an alarm for the middle of the nigh to go change it if I need to.

Although I just decided to switch to that type of birth control where you only have 4 periods a year????!! We'll see how that goes but it sounds like the best idea ever, frankly. And if it's just as possible to have 4 periods a year as one every month, then I'm not sure why we can't just do away with them entirely...

wow, I'm interested to see how your 4-a-year thing works out. I've often considered that kind of thing but tbh I don't even take birth control-- a friend of mine had a heart attack at 27 resulting from her BC and I just stopped taking it around then.

O.O Holy shit, that's scary. It's weird how BC affects some people so strongly and others not at all. I never noticed any kind of side effect when I first went on it, but a friend of mine can't take it without her eyelids cracking and bleeding :/ So I'm hoping that switching will be similarly painless.

Re. tampons, a lot of people seem to be saying that they don't use them because they don't like pulling out half-dry scratchy ones... for some reason I never find that uncomfortable, and I usually just keep using tampons every period until they come out completely dry. And before I went on BC I would use a tampon if I was the least bit worried about my period starting on a given day, so I was actually wearing dry tampons for a significant portion of my life :/ I'm not sure if that's entirely healthy though

A friend of mine used that BC and loved it! She did say she thought her periods, when they came, had some stronger side effects than before (mostly things like nausea, sensitive stomach, etc.), but said it might also just feel like that because she was going longer between them. And that it was totally worth it. Good luck!
