I honestly have no idea. This sounds like one of those case-by-case deals that would vary from person to person. If you think it's going to be discordant enough you might as well put the disclaimer up. It'll definitely play better than having to backtrack if you get called out on it.

Of course you could come off as an overreacting weirdo if the connection is negligible or just end up drawing the attention of people who otherwise would not have noticed.

FWIW I rarely pay attention to an author's username unless I especially liked their style.

I'll definitely keep this in mind. Thank you.

I think I'll discuss it with a few people I can out myself to even though they don't go to AO3. They can probably see if it's really bad or not. (I think it might be.)
