heh people here seem to not get why this is a secret, but I totally do. god help you in SJW circles of fandom (and they get EVERYWHERE) if you don't write a realistic feminist disabled trans WOC that fights for social rights every single line of the fic and nothing else gets done

I haven't seen that, not exactly, but there is an image going around tumblr where the top part is of a gay couple in a nice house, and they're hugging+sad because they applied to adopt and were rejected, and the bottom was of a woman who smoked, yelling at the kids, the house was filthy, it was a gross environment, and I think the dad was drinking? And their adoption request was accepted, and the point was "isn't it awful how some gay couples with a lot to offer are rejected for their sexuality?"

But then someone commented on how that was rich privilege, and racism (because both families were white?) and that, if the picture really wanted to be inclusive, they should have made it a POC gay couple, probably women?

Like, I get the idea that "teh white gay menz" is an idea that can be overdone, but the idea behind the original picture had nothing to do with race/classism/etc. and all to do with homosexual couples being denied the right to adopt due to their sexuality, and how that's aweful.

On top of what was said above, I've also seen a common criticism towards things that have injustices in them but don't focus the entire story on resolving these things. The story gets slammed for not... being a different story entirely. One about social justice. It's dumb.
