I agree with the other comments: you don't really need to do that. Personally, I think that's where a lot of fiction goes wrong, since instead of thinking "wow what would make a strong, interesting character?" they start thinking of the ~hardships~ that stereotypically define minorities.

When I read or play a female character, I do not want to deal with creeps, or rape threats, or domestic abuse. I just want to have a good time, and unless it's historical fiction, misogyny and rape culture don't... really add anything to a story.

However, OP, I can kind of a relate. I don't know what you identify as, but I also know that it's not always that easy to put out of mind when RPing--at least, not at first. Depending on how life's treated you, and how deeply some things have gotten under your skin, I know it can really be hard to unwind and stop feeling the weight of that baggage when RPing, too.

I can relate, too. Heck, on at least one occasion the lack of realistic prejudice in RP has interfered with my ability to unwind, because the fact that even the most asshole characters were being so nice to my character about it made it harder to ignore the grief that I was getting IRL at the time.
