Apparently the ratings for the last episode were really low, it doesn't bode well for a second season...

I'm tapped out on shows about charismatic criminals and the fandoms for such shows always end up bothering me.

I never saw the movie or read the book

Doesn't interest me at all. I just always find villains dull, even those that are supposed to be interesting. They may be good for the plot, but as characters? Dull.

Thomas N. Cream may be the only exception.

Ah, and I also don't watch any currently-airing shows unless they're based on books I like.

Cannibalism. Gore. Murder. All not my thing.

This. I don't mind a little bit of all of the above where the plot warrants, but this show seems like it'd be way too much of all of the above.

I was really disappointed by it. I think I was just so excited and I had this idea in my mind of how Mads Mikkelsen would be because I love him and...no. The reality just didn't live up to that. Not even by half. And I don't know Hugh Dancy (yes, I know it is weird that I am familiar with MM but not Hugh Dancy) but he really doesn't seem like a very good choice for his role, either.

Because the first episode was poorly scripted, poorly acted, and poorly edited.

idk, I think the fandom size is pretty decent for how long it's been airing. the kink meme has over 2500 comments and Ao3 had close to 200 fic last time I checked. Pretty good for a new show, more than most shows get at least. there seems to be a fair bit of activity on tumblr as well

Though I admit when I saw a post urging people to watch via NBC or Hulu, my first thought was "Where were YOU when I was doing the same thing for Motorcity???"

Because Hannibal as a character (and really, the whole extended franchise) bores the shit out of me.

1) it sounds too gorey
2) I keep forgetting it's on
3) I'm really shallow and if the plot doesn't appeal to me the actors had better, and they don't

Not interested tyvm.

1. I never saw the movies or read the books.

2. There are two Hannibals that I am interested in; one is a Carthaginian general, and the other one loves it when a plan comes together.

3. I remember the actor from his stint as a Bond villain, and I don't enjoy looking at him.

Sir Anthony Hopkins will be the -only- Hannibal I ever liked. With the actor of "Hannibal Rising" a close second.

Because we did Lambs and Dragon over 20 years ago and don't need to watch an attempt to cram that excellence into one of the dumbest media formats?

Because I found Hannibal interesting only in the context of Silence of the Lambs. I didn't watch the Hannibal movie, either, since it just looked like the worst idea.

Cuz it disgusts me, and I find it exhausting. Like, someone I know said the show is gross and it wants you to feel gross and I'm like, why would you watch it then? What can it offer you that the original movie didn't, besides more opportunities to watch some dude eat people? The idea that some ppl think think the taboo makes it intellectual is so tiresome.

The premise doesn't really appeal to me.

Also, I'm in research paper hell.

Because I hate watching TV.

Because I don't like Hannibal Lecter and I really hate gore?
